AI can both replace and assist workers depending on the tasks involved. Dgital platforms are creating new flexible work opportunities and higher-paying digital jobs. Governments must focus on digital skills, mobility, and worker protection to prepare for the future of work.
Around 2 million skilled jobs were created due to robot adoption in some ASEAN countries. About 1.4 million low-skilled routine jobs were displaced by automation. Only around 10% of jobs complement AI in East Asia & Pacific (vs around 30% in advanced economies).
