734/5000 The risks of IT failure in hospitals must be better identified. For the provision of good care, hospitals are increasingly dependent on the proper functioning of the ICT to prevent unsafe situations for the patient. This is evident from the report “Patient safety in the event of IT failure in hospitals”. The Council provides a basis for hospitals to adequately manage the risks that the failure of ICT entails for the care of patients.
