Are recruitment agencies storing too much personal data? The recruitment industry appears to be massively violating the legal basis for retaining personal data in GDPR. In addition to salary, work experience and education, many employers also want to know other matching / selection criteria such as preference for a man or woman, Western or non-Western background, certain age limit, sexual orientation, etc. As an intermediary, the recruitment and selection agency is not allowed to process this special data without a legal basis, but this is still done for commercial reasons.
