Privacy Rights of data subjects

GDPR: Rights of data subjects unknown to almost 60% of the Dutch

98% of adults in the Netherlands are now familiar with the AVG law, which became effective on 25 May. Almost 60% of the Dutch do not know what rights they have been granted and even less than half want to view data or have it removed.

Citizens who do make use of their new rights focus their arrows in particular on the government and healthcare providers to view personal data. When it comes to having personal data removed, companies such as Facebook and Twitter lead the rankings. More than 30% of the Dutch indicate that they want to make use of the right to be forgotten on social media.
