Dutch DPA: MenZis penalty payment of 50,000 euros for unauthorized access to Zorgverzekeraar

Menzis has to pay a penalty of 50,000 euros from the Dutch Data Protection Authority (DDPA) because people within the organization may have had unauthorized access to health data. Menzis reports this on Thursday in the 2018 annual report.

Data that employees were not allowed to view because of their position could still be requested. On the basis of the investigation, the regulator does not rule out that abuse has taken place. Menzis has now solved the problem.
